Coke CEO to Fox Business: We’re Adding 100k Jobs

Coca-Cola (NYSE:KO) CEO Muhtar Kent is apparently banking on big growth for Coke. The Coca-Cola exec said Wednesday in an interview that the company will create 100,000 jobs globally over the next 10 years.

Watch the latest video at video.foxbusiness.comIn an interview with Liz Claman of FOX Business, Kent said the Coca-Cola was “growing, investing and creating jobs” in the U.S., Europe and emerging markets.

The 100,000 number is pretty impressive in itself, but the fact that it is a roughly 14% increase above the current Coca-Cola workforce of 700,000 is even more telling.

It’s also interesting that Kent talks about “raising confidence levels.” The soft drink maker may be just a way to boost productivity for many with a jolt of sugar and caffiene, but there’s no denying that Coke is a major player in international trade and employment.

From Davos, Switzerland, Kent also told Fox he supported a broad overhaul of the tax system in the U.S. But the fact that corporations want tax reform isn’t exactly a news flash to anyone, is it?
