Sony Gives In To The Inevitable, Cuts E-Book Reader Prices

Following recent e-book reader price cuts by both Amazon.com (AMZN) and Barnes & Noble (BKS), Sony (SNE) has reduced the price of its low-end Reader Pocket Edition to $150, from $170, PC World reports. The Touch Edition reader goes to $170, from $200, and the high Daily Edition model is now $300, down from $350.

Amazon recently cut the price of the Kindle to $189, from $258, and then followed up by lowering the Kindle DX to $379, from $489; Barnes & Noble trimmed the price of the Nook reader to $199, from $259.

Alternatively, you could buy an Apple iPad.
