Stocks to watch Thursday: Wal-Mart, Sears

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) � Among the stocks that could see active trade in Thursday�s session are Wal-Mart, Sears Holdings and Dollar Tree.

Wal-Mart WMT �is slated to report fiscal first quarter earnings before the opening bell. The company is expected to earn $1.04 a share on revenue of $110.5 billion, according to the average estimate of analysts polled by FactSet Research. Same-store sales are seen rising 2%.

Sears SHLD �is also up and the company will post a loss of 67 cents a share on revenue of $9.3 billion and a same-store sales decline of 1.4% if Wall Street�s best estimates are on the mark.

Dollar Tree DLTR �will earn 97 cents a share with sales of $1.7 billion if it meets analyst expectations. Same-store sales should be up 4.1%.

Other companies scheduled to report include GameStop GME , Bon-Ton BONT �and Ross Stores ROST .

After the Wednesday close, shares of Limited Brands LTD � LTD �fell about 4% after the company posted lower first-quarter profit and revenue.
