Ron Paul: Real Iran Threat is Economic

Ron Paul showed up on CNN to dismiss talk that Super Tuesday would effectively seal Mitt Romney’s nomination as the Republican presidential candidate.

But the talk quickly steered toward his opponents’ sabre-rattling on Iran at the annual AIPAC convention where – needless to say – Paul was not a speaker.

When asked if his opponents were being too casual with their ‘Bomb Iran’ rhetoric, Paul said simply “the last thing this country needs...is another war.”

He said that the real threat is an economic one.

"The greatest threat to us is a financial crisis. And this will enhance the chances of this financial crisis. Just look at what’s happening to gasoline and oil prices right now. That’s going to get much worse, once the bombs start dropping on Iran...”

“I don’t want them to have a weapon, but I also lived through the 1960’s...the Soviets, a ruthless, terrible nation -- we dealt with them and they had 30,000 nuclear weapons.”
