BP, Transocean, Halliburton Could Face Spill Citations

BP (BP) and two of the other companies involved in last year’s Macondo oil spill could face additional citations from the government agency in charge of offshore drilling.

Michael Bromwich, the head of the Bureau of safety and Environmental Enforcement, said today that the government has undertaken more reviews of the spill. BP, Halliburton (HAL) and Transocean (RIG) could get hit with new environmental and safety violations. A government report released in September blamed BP, as well as other companies for a series of failures that helped lead to the spill.
