The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose for the 10th consecutive day Thursday, its longest winning streak since November 1996. The index rose 83.86 points, or 0.58%, to close at 14,539.14 — the eighth day in a row the Dow has set a record. That’s also the longest such streak since November ’96.
The Standard & Poor’s 500 index rose 0.56% to close at 1,563.23, tantalizingly close to its record close of 1,565.15, set on Oct. 9, 2007. Today’s close is the second highest in the S&P 500′s history.
The Russell 2000 index� rose 0.97% to close at 953.07, a record. The small-cap index is up 12 of the past 13 trading days, and has risen 12.2% this year.
