US Airways Group, Inc. (NYSE:LCC) announced that it is proactively canceling flights along the East Coast as a result of Hurricane Irene’s projected path. Flight schedules at Washington Reagan, Philadelphia International Airport, New York’s LaGuardia, John F. Kennedy and Newark airports and Boston Logan, as well as other cities in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic, will be reduced as the airline works to ensure the safety of its customers, employees and equipment.
